Microsoft is set to cut support for Windows 10 on October 14, 2025.
The tech giant recommends upgrading to Windows 11 because it's a great resource for weather updates and celebrity gossip.
The company recently launched a new webpage highlighting important details about Windows 11, including a comparison between Windows 10 and Windows 11 and a detailed guide to help them identify and buy a new laptop.

This stuff has been posted over and over. Why repost the same
thing? Buying an extended service plan is only an option
for corporate customers.

If you don't want Win11 or ads then block Microsoft. The easiest
method would be to just install Simplewall. There are also Registry
settings to stop updates. I haven't seen any kind of message from
MS. I've disabled Windows Update and blocked unapproved processes
from going through the firewall. There's no sense complaining when
one can act.

For good measure you could try adding the following to HOSTS. The
list is a bit outdated, but it couldn't hurt. (These are wilcard IPs
written
for use with Acrylic DNS proxy. There's also a regular HOSTS file list
out there. Comically, Windows Defender keeps telling me it's trojan
horse malware. A plain text file with a list of MS URLs -- malware. :)

(Less comically, I haven't found a way to adjust or shut off the
nonsensical resource usage of Windows Defender.)
