People have gone on and on about this trick, yet people have failed to
notice the real trick: stop using Google. Google sucks now. DuckDuckGo
gives noticeably better results, and it's better for privacy, so it's
win-win.

Sadly, I have found that DuckDuckGo results to be an inferior subset of
the results that Google will give.

I often am searching for things with DuckDuckGo 1st and end up needing
to use Google 2nd to find what I'm looking for.

Respectfully disagree. Google, although rapidly being overtaken by
Yahoo, still produces the best results.

If I'm searching for technical information of varying types, DDG doesn't
even return well known results so it's not helpful. Yahoo has begun to
surpass Google in terms of accuracy and quantity.

It's hit or miss depending on the DuckDuckGo search, maybe a page and a
half of results for the query before the first unrelated random hit.

Same, although I can use yahoo effectively via Tor browser whereas Google
makes it difficult.

I generally use DDG and have nearly all Google properties
blocked altogether in my HOSTS file. I would never touch
gmail or Google services for webmasters. But it simply isn't true
that DDG is better. It's Bing. Maybe once a month I use Google
for an obscure search because DDG just doesn't have it.

I agree 100% I saw someone reply to your msg that say DuckDuckGo gives
worse results, and I honestly think that they are not using duckduckgo

Yes, Google sucks now, but with the "udm=14" trick it's back to the
old Google that was, and is, much better than DuckDuckGo.

Yeah I understand, maybe my searches are easier so I am happy with it.
usually I only search about condig/networking stuff so in this case I
usually get good results as long I dork it right.
But you are right that everyones experience is prob diff for you is
worse, etc.. I respect that.
