I have been referred to this newsgroup from alt.folkore.computers.
I have acquired a notebook PC with Windows XP, but having no
I/O ports save for USB ones.
I have a HP Laserjet ll printer (and two unused replacement toner cartridges), but I cannot locate the HP driver for WIndows XP.
Any ideas because HP themselves have not only discontinued support but
have deleted the driver from their website.
I do have another XP laptop with a printer port which drives the
Laserjet OK but I'd like to get the notebook operational with the printer.
(Based upon previous pomposities, I'm not interested in moving
to LINUX nor in sharing the printer via the router.)
So, is "ll" supposed to mean eleven (11) or 2 (in Roman numerals)? The
HP LaserJet 2 was introduced back in 1987. I would think XP first
released in 2001 would have the embedded drivers for the old printer.
Did you walk through the Add Printer Wizard to see if your printer was
listed?
