Aye, as much as I enjoy it they don't half have a lot of odd words. Loads on US spellings, as you'd expect, plurals all over the place and some proper nouns as well. It takes a bit of getting used to but eventually you seem to get a "feeling" about the type of words it uses.

I left it almost a week so I had a backlog... scored a ten or two catching those up :)

I've upgraded wordle again to the latest version.

VERSION 2025.7.24

This is a small update that fixes the Calendar display for make-up days. The correct starting day should now be used each month.

Thanks! I've noticed this problem on a couple of the game servers, it looks like it got broken somewhere in the recent flurry of updates.

On a related note, any idea what's up with Goldmine? It has been broken for weeks now, throwing up a message about all lines being busy. It's not a Magnum thing, I tried it from another board just to check and that also could not connect.

Ah Goldmine down again ... I'll look into that.

Last time we have problems, I reported an issue on the 26/06/25 and the following day it started working again.

So checking now and I'm getting the same error as before:

"Sorry, all terminal nodes are in use or otherwise unavailable. Please try again later. "

Will drop another note into the support channel and see what response I get back.

Heha, I bothered that poor guy before about a bug, his first question was "What version is this? That was fixed ages ago." - lo and behold it was an old version running on one of the game servers so I looked like a donkey. I must have checked all the other places where I played but not that one.

Will drop another note into the support channel and see what response I get back.

Yes... otherwise I'd be doing a lot better on two out of my three daily plays :) It seems that each installation randomly chooses the day's word, so if I went to the same game server from two different BBSes then I would get the same word twice, but not if I play on different game servers / local doors on different BBSes.

I'm still waiting for the day I hit the answer on the first guess. Must be well into the hundreds of plays always starting with the same word but no dice so far!

I've had it happen on the new york times wordle once.... :)

I also use the same starting word every time.
