XQTR>Its not that i underestimate MPL or other scripting languages. The matter
XQTR>is that scripting languages are for specific systems. BBS software from
XQTR>the beginning of the BBS era, has vanished or not being used any more. At
XQTR>the other hand we still can use DOOR games that was written as programs
XQTR>and compiled unde DOS! And this... because of exactly that! There were
XQTR>programs NOT scripts. When a BBS Software is disappearing, all scripts
XQTR>written for that, will also vanish.
Then you get folks like me who run software like Wildcat! 4.x and have wccNOSY to decompile, update/fix and recompile existing scripts that
are out there now :) ___
It cuts both ways. In today's heterogenous environment, doors have their disadvantage, namely being compiled for a specific OS. And DOS software is not easy for some of us to run.
