On 22 Apr 2019, xqtr said the following...
I installed cryptlib and enabled ssh support for my bbs. The only "weird" thing about, is that i have to force the ssh client to use specific algorithms. if i give a simple ssh command the connection cant be done, but if i force (linux) ssh program to use an algorithm then its all good.
syncterm also refuses to connect because it cant find a proper
algorithm. Can i force synvterm to use one specific?
is this normal or i miss something?
thank you.
I dunno if this helps you, but I had a similar issue, possibly the same but I forget... This is how I solved it.
In your local computer's (not the bbs server's) ~/.ssh/config file, add this
to the end (assuming you don't already have a catch all)
Host *
SendEnv LANG LC_*
Ciphers aes128-ctr,aes192-ctr,aes256-ctr,aes128-cbc,3des-cbc
This will obviously force those specified Ciphers onto any host you connect
to, if they're required then it will use one of them.
This should fix your terminal issue, SyncTERM however I never had the issue with, whether this edit above also fixed SyncTERM I don't know, but it's
worth a try none the less.
