  • Type 3 PKT or .P10 support?

    Anyone running a tosser that supports Type 3, or P10 formats?

    I doubt it. There were several incompatible Type 3 packet proposals, none of which caught on. Type 2+ packets are by far the most used in today's FTN networks. BTW, drop into the FTSC echo and take a look at the draft of FSP-1042 that Mark Lewis and I have been working on. It details the differences between Type 2, Type 2+, and Type 2.2 packets.

    Well... Husky's HPT or Mystic's MUTIL come to mind. Both come in 64b Linux flavours. HPT requires a little more work to configure though.

    Thanks, I'm aware of the official location but didn't see it there. I'm interested in FSP-1042 so I'll keep refreshing I guess hehe.

    It is still in review ... it is actually a nice document that quickly describes the structures of those 3 formats - and then does a
    functional (chart) comparison. 2.2 lacks timestamp, which made me
    change my tosser to use the timestamp of the first message in the PKT -
    as I process based upon creation/date - to reduce backward seeks in the message base a little more.
