They are running on fumes.

Short term: They will cut back on the exhorbitant salaries, but they will resist getting rid of their DEI hires. They may even try to play the good shows more often - not that anyone is listening to PBS anymore anyway.

Long term: They will fail like all other socialist organizations. They have never had to be an actual business before and have no experience.

In addition, all their IP has already been sold off (ex: Sesame Street) to others. So they don't have anything special to offer viewers.

On top of that, media viewing on TV has dropped and continues to drop.

So now they have to be competitive in a tight market that is tightening up more every day.

I give PBS a year, maybe 2, before they declare bankruptsy. They certainly won't last until the end of Trump's term.

My 8 year old is "tired of the racist crap." I like PBS enough to watch the extra channels they have (with cooking shows, travel shows, etc) but I'll never forget Elmo giving a lecture about police brutality, and I won't miss PBS one bit when I see the puppets sitting out on the curb.

On top of that, media viewing on TV has dropped and continues to drop.

To me it seems like most people are watching Instagram/TikTok videos more than TV. (I still watch TV but I'm a weird guy.)

I haven't watched TV in years now. The number of shows that I cared about got smaller and smaller as they either went off the air, or went Woke.

I used to always see the ad that says "This show was made possible from contributions from viewers like you," and now I know what it really
meant: "Made possible with squandered tax dollars from taxpayers like you."

The "viewers like you" probably only accounted for 50% of their operating budget. And that would have been decades ago when they played shows that people wanted to watch.

I remember about 20+ year ago when I moved out to the area that I live now, I used to watch PBS a good deal. Tracks Ahead, Red Green, etc. Then I got to an area that I now recognize as more left-wing and the only time those shows got broadcast was during pledge week.

I talked to a local who'd been here for a long time and he told me that was the norm for this PBS station. They only play the good stuff during pledge week, but back to ballet, opera, etc. that the station president likes.

It was obvious that if the local PBS was an actual, non-subsidized broadcaster they would quickly go out of business.

That's something you and I have in common. I used to like certain shows too until they became woke. Jeopardy & The Price Is Right, for examples. I used to listen to mainstream heavy metal too, until the birth of wokeism ruined it for me.

IHMO: PBS has been completely wrecked by the Woke that it won't be able to recover. In my case, no matter what they do, I won't be watching it ever again - mostly because I don't watch TV anymore.

I assume that they're pretty well-stocked with our money already from all the shenanigans during Biden's administration (Build Back Better, American Rescue Plan, etc.)

The Biden regime could blow through 5 trillion dollars in 5 seconds, but I assume that the funneling team at least knows what they're doing to some extent.

But the purpose of the NGOs was to funnel (i.e. launder) tax dollars. They had no incentive to hang on to some of it. They were probably told to never hang on to any of it and dispurse it as quickly as possible.

Things were probably "looking up" for idiots during the Biden administration. They never saw Trump coming, and they thought the TV was going to protect their "jobs" at the transgender comic book factory. ;)

Oh, ya. There are a lot of Wokies who are getting smacked hard by Reality as they lose their high paying DEI jobs in corporations and have to do something at their skill level.
