The REAL scam is the news story itself:

"Sen. Gillibrand spoke about the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau, or CFPB, which is facing major cuts as part of President Trump's efforts to downsize and cut spending."

The CFPB was created by Democrats in 2011. The article said that seniors have lost more than $5 billion dollars in scams just last year, so does it sound like CFPB is worth the $500 million dollars per year it takes to run it?

CFPB is just another piece of Democrat bureaucracy that gives trash like Gillibrand talking points and she's crying to the "Government Accountability Office" which is yet another piece of Democrat bureaucracy that wastes money under the guise of saving it.

You totally get it, because I was thinking the same thing. I've suspected for quite some time that Democrats are behind the scams on the elderly. Clue #1 is how they keep tricking them into believing that Republicans are trying to take away their Medicare and/or Social Security. Clue #2 is they don't take any real action on the scams while many things can be done without costing taxpayers. Clue #3 is they're Democrats.

There's something fishy about a recent law that was passed (by Democrats) that makes robo-calls illegal. I used to get a lot of those calls, but they stopped after the law was passed. So now the scammers are using public records to make custom scam mail that they send to elderly people through USPS.

"Dear **Mr Thomas** The interest rate on your loan through **PNC BANK** will increase in 5 days unless you call the number listed below."

Here's what makes me so suspicious about this: Why did the scammers stop calling people? Just because Democrats passed a law? Who cares about the law when you're a scammer? It doesn't add up.

They make amplified phones for old people. My mom has one. It's the only way she can talk on the phone.

But she long ago got into a habit of saying "I can't understand you." and hanging up.

telephone is a red flag for anybody standing guard inside an old
person's house, and I think that's why the scammers have evolved into
USPS scams; it's more effective because old people tend to not use
email notifications, and they have a regimen of going out and getting
the mail, and reviewing it.

Possible. But mail scams are harder because the person has time to think and review.

And probably already gets lots of junk mail, so the scam ends up in the bin with the rest of the junk mail.

Ya, it's a mindset. It's hard to be in the "happy medium" there because you have to pay attention, think, etc. Most people don't want to bother with that and just enjoy their lives.

The democrates are not behind sh*t and you telling a lies. This sure
gives me a good reason to assume that when you do bad things you do
not hold you self accountable. You need to learn to grow up.

Our national debt is now 37T and will increase from 3T to 5T in the
next few years thanks to Trump. The cost of living is going up, less
fewer available jobs, Trump has no interest in helping the poor or the
middle class, Our federal taxes will go up and the tariffs is not doing
