  • pulseaudio dwm or xinit

    Does anyone know how to make pulseaudio work with just a simple xinit.

    I've looked around for awhile but I can't seem to get pulseaudio server to produce sound when I simply run:
    xinit -maximized -bg black -fg lightblue -cr red
    I see it runing via ps -aux|grep audio, but I can't make sound come out of speakers.

    Now if I run it under xfce4 desktop manager it knows what hardware to connect to.

    I just like dwm or i3 better because they are clean and not resource intensive.

    So if I can get pulseaudio to run under a simple xinit, ... then I can enjoy computing even more! :)

    I'm sorry about that. Awhile ago the BBS I would send these message throught would check if I sent a message before, and remove it. Something happened and it doesn't seem to work that way now. I was a bit confused do to so many reply packets I was too scared to kill previous replies. I've killed all the repeats now and so that shouldn't be happening any more.
