  • he.net Tunnel?

    Hello There,

    I decided to acquire a he.net Ipv6 tunnel.

    Why you might ask since I already have native IPv6 addresses.

    The simple answer is that I have seen much discussion on the subject of tunnels but have never gotten any personnel first hand experience. So.. I decided to see for myself. I will be setting the tunnel to point to a spare static v4 IP on a spare Linux PC.

    I may ask some questions here if the need arises.

    Update

    I have the HE.NET tunnel setup. I will be updating the DNS servers shortly. I decided to use a spare Linux PC that has a current install of Synchronet on it.

    I did notice that the tunnel did setup quite easily using the Linux "interface" file. It looks as if the actual IP6 connection via the network interface isn't needed as it is currently disabled. But I do currently have IPv6 connectivity via the tunnel.

    Now to do some testing and evaluating. :-)

    Feel free to poll 3:633/410 via IPv6. :) I'm on native IPv6 this end, but you should get good connectivity to me using your he.net tunnel. If you do poll, let me know how you go, or try crashing a netmail direct to me at the above Fidonet address. :)
