    You seem to be coming through fine without any TZUTC kludge.

    I seem to recall from my own DOS days setting a TZUTC or TZ environment variable although I am not sure if FMAIL supports that or not.

    Actually not FMAIL. You can set your TZ environment in DOS and golded will use it. There is a write up in the golded manual that explains it.
