Not to mention how we continue to burn fossil fuel as if there was no impact on our climate. Soon we'll be forced to grow gills like Kevin Costner in Waterworld.

Many companies worldwide make millions, maybe even billions? From the production and processing of fossil fuel. Too much at stake for them to just jump ship and go with something cleaner.
I for one, would welcome our supreme alien overlords...
I'm all in. Anything but our present day politicians...
We don't have any real good ones here in Canada, especially our PM. He
was really only elected based on his famous last name... and his hair.
Canadian media pokes fun at Trump, but believe me, we have our fair
share of problems. Whats the old saying... people who live in glass houses should not cast stones?

I agree abou the fossil fuel and how it effecting our client.
navigate yourself to the peak of Mt Everest ...

Actually Chimborazo in Ecuador would be a better choice.
It's the highest mountain above Earth's center, and since the sea
level will follow the gravity, it means that this peak eventually will
be the last to be submerged.

Okay, okay, okay. So it's the centrifugal and not the gravitational force that causes it, but the end result is still the same.
Now you are wrong. Mt. Everest is the highest point above the
*present* sea level. It will no longer be if you raise it by 8840m.
Because of the centrifugal force that causes the Earth to be "flattened" as you call it -- more accurately become an ellipsoid --
the sea level will be raised equally much more, the closer to the
equator you get.
How can you not understand such elementary physics...?

Congratulations. OTOH, a raising of ocean levels by much less than
100 meters would be very serious. Much of popluation lives near sea coast. A ten meter rise would have a very big impact on them. A 100
meter rise in sea level would entirely wipe the state where I grew up, Florida
How would the Netherlands fare? I expect from what little I know that
the Holland states would vanish.

I was wondering who would be the first to point that out.

I don't know exactly what would happen where I live, but am pretty sure that a 100 meter rise would put most of Maryland from me to the Appalachian mountain range under water.

New Orleans survived Katrina.
But not the breeches in the levee
the next morning. Will New Orleans survive the rising waters of the ocean? The city is already 9 feet below city level, with levees surrounding the area.

Has all been restored and all of the residents return?

Nice retraction...
