Yeah well, I tend to agree. But one question that I've
been struggling with for decades (yes!) is: what in heavens
name purpose does your senate serve?
A club of 100 millionaires that is supposed to oversee what the 435 commoners in the house are doing? Oh, yes we had that
elitism even in Sweden, but we abandoned it in 1969. Is it
maybe time for the US to join the 21st century already? 8-)
The short answer is that the Senate gives equal representation to the
states and that the House gives equal representation to the people. In
a way that is what the electoral college tends to do in aggregate.
