    Finally I am going to reinstall "8"
    And get the scanner working.
    I have learned the hard way NOT to install scanner with MCC
    It buggers up everything.
    The printer is no longer a problem.

    Post install config is just a bit tedious but it can be done in stages
    Unless I fall into procrastination - again.
