Hi all,
at the moment I am preparing to upgrade some of my pcs from MGA6 to MGA7.
My first impression is that there are multiple improvements. It boots
faster, (intel) graphics issues seem to be gone, just to name some.
Now, I'd like to also give 64 bit version a try.
Well, using the 64 bit installation led me to install wine64, instead of
wine which I need because some 16 bit windows applications have no real
native linux equivalent. So, during the last years I ran them in wine,
started from a normal xterm shell.
MGA7-32 with wine32 behaves exactly like good old MGA6-32, but -- I
cannot get these apps running and during installation of wine64 there
appeared the message:
----------------------------------------------------------------------
This is the Win64 version of Wine. This version can only be used to
run 64-bit Windows applications as is. For running 32-bit Windows applications, you need to also install the 'wine32' package from the
32-bit repository. ----------------------------------------------------------------------
Has anyone done this yet?
Does i586 repo have to be included into urpmi.cfg, or any other trick to
be known?
Thanks in advance!
Best regards,
Markus
