Hello Greg,
Don't like it, don't live here. Simple
Yes, that's exactly what should have been said to our Founding Fathers >MM> when they decided they didn't like what the British Crown was doing.
Interesting thoughts.. Take the easy way out, backdown. Would this be your >your solution, for that time in history? To do what they tell you, because
it
is coming from the might of the king? It is good thing that our Founding >Fathers didn't have yellow-bellys and display any cowardice.
Our Founding Fathers and others did tell the British Crown when we left >England. Then we spoke with different actions and stronger words in the >Revolutionary War.
Thomas Jefferson is reputed to have been the main author of the
Declaration of Independence. All of the signatorees put their own
heads on the line when they signed their names on the dotted line.
What they said about their King amounted to treason. Read the
entire document. It is plain as day. The King was not amused by
what his subjects wrote.
George Washington was not a patriot. He wanted no part in what
was going on, or planned. After all, his employ was England, and
like a loyal soldier (he was a military officer, indebted to his
King), he wanted to move up in the ranks. Become a general,
admired by his King.
Something happened along the way that encouraged George Washington
to change his mind. Historians do not know what that something was,
only that something the British did must have been the cause.
My guess is that one of George Washington's closest friends was
executed by the British. Probably without cause.
Anyhow, the Revolutionary War was not really a war at all.
The colonists merely wanted to keep the status quo, not revolt
against their beloved King. It was taxation without representation
that caused them to support Thomas Jefferson & Co. Had the King
given them what they had wanted, there would have been no
Revolutionary War. And the USA would have been just like Canada,
with everybody being loyal subjects of the King (now Queen Elizabeth).
The Framers of the Constitution did not include Thomas Jefferson,
who was in Paris at the time as he was US ambassador to France.
But Jefferson was one of the Founding Fathers, given his
authorship of the Declaration of Independence.
MM> MM>> Just off the top of my head, Trump has publicly stated his
MM> MM>> disdain for Muslims on multiple occasions, telling the American
MM> MM>> people "Islam hates us". He called for a "Total and complete
MM> MM>> shutdown of Muslims" being allowed to enter the US. About 1.1%
of
MM> MM>> American citizens are Muslims, the ones I know love this
country
MM> MM>> just as much as everyone else does.
MM>
MM> GD> Your missing what he said directly after - "Until we figure out what
MM> GD> the hell is going on." Furthermore, there are more then 40
Muslim
MM> GD> nations. U.S. has only banned 7 of them...
MM>
MM> We already know what's going on. Just because he makes George W Bush
MM> look like Steven Hawking when it comes to mental acuity doesn't mean the
MM> rest of us are that stupid.
It is clear what your doing, but it is not working.
Taking things out of context, not quoting completely what was said to
provide
the notion of another understanding. Why is clear... To make your narrative >fit your points of reasoning.
Donald Trump is putting on a show for the crowd. Nothing more. All politicians do that. Some better than others.
George Wallace used much of the same kind of rhetoric, and arguments,
in presenting his case when he ran for governor of Alabama, and also
when he ran for president. He never publicly said the N word, and
viewed himself as being a non-racist kind of guy. In his first
campaign for statewide public office, he ran as a liberal. He lost
big time. The next time he ran much like Donald Trump. And won.
And won. And won. And won. Four terms as governor of Alabama,
and would have been elected president had a kook not shot him.
You want to know why Jimmy Carter was elected president?
George Wallace paved the way.
You want to know why Donald Trump was elected president?
George Wallace paved the way, and Jimmy Carter proved him right.
MM> Hey, look, a number pulled directly from the Fake News Media.
MM> Fun fact: It doesn't cost that much. The most accurate calculation
was
MM> that illegal immigrants cost around 45 billion a year. Also, most of the
MM> illegal immigrants in the US have been here a decade or more already,
MM> and a large number of them came in legally with visas, they just
didn't
MM> leave when it expired.
No it is actually over 200 Billion, when you add up education, healthcare, >housing, and everything else that is needed.
A study by MIT concluded the cost of building the wall at $40 billion.
That is just for the concrete (five times the amount of concrete to
build the wall than the amount used to build Hoover Dam).
Let's use your robe to make my point, that's fine. You say 45 Billion.
That is still more then what it would take to build a big beautiful wall.
40 billion USD. Just for the concrete to build the wall.
How much more would it cost for the labor? How many people
would it take? How many hours per person?
Here's the thing about a wall: It didn't even work very well for the >MM>Chinese, and that was before flying was a thing. We can spend $5 >MM>billion on a wall. boats are cheap. rafts are free. airfare is >MM>inexpensive. ladders are also cheap. so are shovels.
Your forgetting about the coast guard, and the U.S. Navy. Besides the kinds >of people that are coming here illegally are not the type to afford a plane >ticket nor are they able to charter a boat. You think this wall is going to >be a shabby rickety old fence. Think Again it is going to be equipped with >sensors and detection tech.
All that extra cost adds up. Much more than just the basic cost
of concrete.
MM> MM> MM>> GD> Same sex marriages the
decision to do so or not to do so is MM> MM>> a state MM> MM>> GD> right. MM> MM>> MM> MM>> I have been unable to find an argument
against
same-sex marriage MM> MM>> that doesn't involve religion.
MM>
MM> GD> Being gay or straight is a choice and does not have a thing to
do wit
MM> GD> religion, to state otherwise is more then foolish.
MM>
MM> Tell me, did you wake up one morning and decide to be straight? no?
MM> You just happen to find the opposite sex appealing?
MM> It's the same for those who are LBGT. They don't chose to be the
way
MM> they are.
I still say that being gay or straight has nothing to do religion. Do queer >or gay folks believe in God? ;of course they do.
Dick Cheney has a daughter who is lesbian. Dick Cheney loves her
very much. Point is, people should always be free to love who they
love. Never having to pretend.
A church or religious group can have a rule prohibiting same-sex
marriage. But just because a religion says something is sinful does
not mean that everybody has to accept what that religion says.
The state should not be making moral/ethical decisions for people.
I am straight.
Until you decide otherwise.
Does this mean that I hate gays, No I don't hate them. It's
just not for me or my family or my friends.
Only you can decide who you love. Along with your significant other.
But the state forcing individuals to pretend to love someone they do
not? That is what Iran has. Should the USA be like Iran? A former
president of Iran once proclaimed "We do not have homosexuals in
Iran like in America." I take it he was telling the truth.
MM> Graduates from RPI average $82,000 a year after 10 years of work
and
MM> start at about $67,000 . if they have a student loan of $200,000,
they
MM> will be paying $2126 a month for 10 years at current interest rates. Not
MM> to mention they'll need to take out private loans to pay for that, since
MM> federal loans won't cover it.
Some of the highest paying careers in the world are found in engineering. >Engineering is widely considered as one of the most lucrative and in demand >career choices, with multiple engineering disciplines and job types, as well >as salaries that can exceed $100k per year once the engineer has some >experience behind them.
LSU graduate school. There are more Chinese graduate students
than American students who are studying engineering.
These Chinese students are the best of the best from their country.
The costs for their tuition is subsidized by their government.
These Chinese students are smart. Very smart. Make straight A's.
Then they return to China once they graduate. And make China
great again.
China undercuts us in many ways. I am glad to see Donald Trump
standing up for America, rather than caving in to their demands.
