The Chinese seem to be making inroads when it comes to
humanoids and AI. Fr what I have read, they are hoping to
use them in factories and also possibly companions. They
have not perfected anything yet.
I would not mind a android companion as long as it did not try
to kill me. Jerry
If I am remembering correctly what I have read in the past, part of what China wants to use them for is companions to their growing elderly population.
I might not mind having a C3PO around, either, just so long as I could power it completely off so it wasn't always listening (or reporting my actions back to some supercomputer somewhere!).
